10 Fall 2026 Colors Taking The Season By Storm

Trending colors for fall always come with some classics, like rich reds, earthy browns, and deep blues. And Fall/Winter 2026 has all of that… but with a new spin. This season’s palette is split between earthy, wearable neutrals and bright colors with a lot of personality, like espresso brown and soft ecru sitting next to electric blue or tomato red.

Here are the trending colors for Fall/Winter 2026, and some easy tips on how to easily incorporate them into your everyday looks.

1. Tomato Red

Red has had remarkable staying power over the past few seasons, and we’re still not tired of it. For Fall 2026, the reds showing up are especially clear and saturated, like tomato, scarlet, poppy, and classic true red. These hues instantly liven up any fall outfit, from denim jeans to camel trenches.

You can absolutely go big with a red coat or tonal outfit, but I think red is more wearable for the every-lady when it appears in one slightly unexpected place, like a bright red ballet flat with relaxed jeans, a red shoulder bag against a brown sweater, or a thin red turtleneck peeking out beneath a jacket.

2. Burgundy

If fiery reds aren’t your thing, you’ll be happy to find deeper shades of red in the Fall 2026 wardrobe as well. Wine, oxblood, and burgundy are forever fall staples, but they’re especially making a splash this season.

The best part about burgundy is that it has enough color to make an outfit interesting, but it works almost like a neutral. You can wear it with navy, charcoal, cream, chocolate, camel, or denim, and it adds a deep, luxurious richness to any look.

3. Plum

Plum is another deep shade showing up for fall, and it feels like a slightly fresher alternative to the burgundy we’ve been seeing everywhere. Deep tones like aubergine, blackberry, and jewel-toned purple are more popular, rather than anything too bright or sugary.

Plum’s also much easier to wear than you might expect. Try a dark aubergine sweater with cream trousers, a deep purple blouse with black denim, or a plum bag with chocolate brown.

4. Rich, Earthy Browns

Brown is still one of the biggest neutrals for fall, so if your closet’s already stocked up, you can absolutely keep those pieces in rotation. Chocolate brown is still going strong, but espresso, toffee, caramel, and camel are all part of the mix too.

Brown is an easy way to soften and autumn-ify your looks. Try chocolate trousers with a cream knit, a camel coat over denim, or simply add brown through your accessories like boots, loafers, belts, and handbags. It’s also a great color to shop secondhand because good leather and suede only tend to get better with age.

5. Cream and Ecru

On the lighter side of the palette, soft off-whites are also having a big moment. Cream, ivory, bone, oatmeal, and ecru all feel especially solid for fall because they break up the darker colors we naturally start reaching for as the weather cools down.

Try ecru jeans with an olive sweater, a chunky cream knit with brown trousers, or an ivory coat with an all-dark outfit. These shades add softness without feeling summery, especially when they’re done in cozy fall textures like knit, wool, denim, or suede.

6. Olive and Moss Green

Olive green never really disappears, but it’s especially strong this season. The green shades we’re seeing this year lean muted and earthy, like moss, army green, and those slightly muddy greens that work so well with fall textures.

They’re incredibly easy to style, too. Olive looks beautiful with cream, camel, chocolate brown, denim, and even red. A cropped utility jacket, soft moss sweater, or suede green handbag can seamlessly slide into a neutral wardrobe without feeling like you’re adding too much color.

7. Midnight Navy

navy for fall winter 2026

Blue is showing up in a much moodier way for fall, with shades like midnight, inky navy, and deep ocean blue taking the lead. These shades have the same sort of polish as black but feel just a little softer and more interesting.

These blues work especially well in tailored pieces like coats, trousers, blazers, and knit dresses. I love deep navy with chocolate brown or ecru – it feels classic but still fresh.

8. Electric Blue

On the complete opposite end of the blue spectrum, cobalt and electric blue are bringing some much-needed brightness to the Fall/Winter 2026 season.

And you don’t need much of this color to make a splash. A vivid blue sweater with dark denim and brown boots is enough to make a simple outfit feel different and fresh. You could also try adding bright blue through a scarf, bag, ballet flat, or smaller layer under a neutral jacket.

9. Turquoise

Turquoise is making its way beyond summer this year, especially in richer materials and deeper, more saturated shades. And fear not, this once-summery color feels completely different once you put it next to wool, corduroy, suede, or leather.

Styling turquoise can feel intimidating, but it almost always looks good with brown, cream, olive, and chocolate. Try a turquoise sweater with jeans and brown loafers, or a silky turquoise skirt with a cream sweater. One turquoise piece is usually just enough to make the whole outfit feel trendier and more interesting.

10. Chartreuse

Chartreuse has been the trending color of 2026 in everything from home decor to weddings and, of course, fashion. This sharp yellow-green shade feels especially bold against all the browns, creams, and dark blues dominating the rest of the fall season.

If a full chartreuse outfit feels like too much, start smaller. A scarf, handbag, sock, or little pop of color under a jacket can be a really fun way to add in color. This is definitely one of the more fashion-forward shades for fall, so wear as much or as little of it as you like!

How to Wear Fall 2026 Colors

You definitely don’t need to add every trending color to your closet. A better approach is to look at the shades you already wear and pick one or two trending colors that will make your go-to pieces feel like new again.

  • So, if your wardrobe is full of brown and cream, try adding tomato red or cobalt blue. If you wear a lot of black and navy, burgundy or plum can blend in easily. And if you already love earthy colors, olive, moss, camel, and ecru practically style themselves.
  • Accessories are also an easy place to experiment. A preloved bag, scarf, shoe, or belt in one of these shades can give you that seasonal refresh without buying a whole new wardrobe.
  • The best fall colors are the ones that make you excited to get dressed again. Whether that means a bright red flat, a chocolate brown coat, or an unexpected hit of chartreuse, choose the shades that make you feel good.
